What payment methods does Abbott & Oaks accept?
Abbott & Oaks accepts all major credit and debit cards, along with PayPal and Shop Pay. For pieces above $2,000, we also offer Abbott & Oaks Layaway.
Do you offer layaway or financing?
Yes — Abbott & Oaks Layaway is available on any piece priced above $2,000, at no additional cost. A 20% deposit reserves the piece, and the balance is paid over a term you choose, from one to three months.
How does Abbott & Oaks Layaway work?
Select "Layaway" under Payment Options on any eligible product page, then choose a payment term between one and three months. The initial 20% deposit is non-refundable. Once the balance is paid in full, the piece ships to you at no charge. If a layaway plan is cancelled or the item is later returned, the refund is issued as store credit rather than to the original payment method.
How fast does Abbott & Oaks ship orders?
Orders ship by the next business day after purchase. You may upgrade to Overnight shipping on any order at checkout for next-day delivery.
What shipping method is used for my order?
Shipping method is based on order value: UPS 2nd Day Air for orders under $10,000, and UPS Next Day Air for orders over $10,000.
Will I need to sign for my delivery?
Yes, if your order totals more than $800. Signature confirmation is required on all orders above that threshold, regardless of shipping method.
How do I track my order?
Track your order through your Abbott & Oaks account or the shipping confirmation email sent at the time of dispatch.
My order shows as delivered, but I can't find the package. What do I do?
Once a carrier scans a package as delivered, responsibility for it transfers to the recipient, so Abbott & Oaks isn't able to issue a refund or replacement for confirmed deliveries. Start by checking the delivery address on file, then ask neighbors or building management if they signed for it. From there, contact the carrier directly for delivery specifics like GPS location or the signature on file, and file a claim with the carrier (and a police report, if theft is suspected).
What is Abbott & Oaks' return policy?
US-based clients have 30 days from the date of receipt to return a piece for a full refund.
Do you extend the return window for the holidays?
Yes. Orders placed between November 15 and December 25 have 45 days from delivery to be returned, rather than the standard 30.
What do I need to include with a return?
Include the original invoice and any paperwork that came with the piece.
Will a refund be denied if the piece was resized or altered?
Rings resized by Abbott & Oaks remain eligible for return. Returns of pieces with other alterations will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Items altered by an outside jeweler or showing signs of damage are not eligible for return.
How long does it take to receive a refund?
Refunds are processed within 24 hours of the returned item arriving. From there, most payment methods post the refund within 3–7 business days, depending on the card or platform.
Does Abbott & Oaks offer ring resizing?
Yes, complimentary resizing is included on all rings. Some rings cannot be resized due to their design; please reach out with any questions.
How many sizes can a ring be resized?
Most rings can be resized up to three sizes larger or smaller. If a ring’s design limits resizing, we’ll note that directly in the listing.
Can you make other alterations beyond resizing?
Yes, on a case-by-case basis. Because every piece is one of a kind, reach out with the specifics of what you'd like altered and we'll let you know what's feasible and what it would cost.
Are Abbott & Oaks gemstones natural?
Yes. Every gemstone is natural and earth-mined; we don't sell synthetic or lab-created stones unless it's explicitly noted on the listing.
How does Abbott & Oaks verify the authenticity of its jewelry?
Every piece goes through metal testing (electronic or acid-based), in-house gemstone grading against the GIA scale, and a historical review of hallmarks, signatures, and craftsmanship to confirm period and origin. Pieces that pass are marked with the Abbott & Oaks seal of authenticity.
Can I get a third-party gemological report?
Yes, upon request. We can provide reports from independent labs such as GIA, AGL, or EGL where applicable.
How do you determine a piece's era, maker, or designer?
Through hallmarks, signatures, construction techniques, and comparison against our internal reference library of historical and designer jewelry. This is done alongside — not instead of — our materials testing.
